Welcome to the lost zone – music beautifully and lovingly created by artists with quivers full of dreams, but due to bad management, complacent labels, disinterested audiences or lack of promotional heft, the music got lost, abandoned on a subway to nowhere. Lost Immortals.

Roy Stannard
Roy has enjoyed producing radio for many years, starting with Radio Falmer at the University of Sussex, then a brief spell with a pirate station in Brighton, followed by 8 years helping to set up Worthing/Coastway/Seaside Hospital Radio in West Sussex. After 5 RSLs in the Brighton area, a bid for the new Brighton & Hove commercial licence was made in 1997. Five years later the same group applied for the Worthing licence and went on to create the town’s first commercial radio station, Splash FM. This station is now part of the Total Sense Media Group, broadcasting as More Radio across Sussex. Roy puts his experience to good use as a Sunday presenter on Mid Sussex Radio 103.8FM with The Whole Nine Yards 3-5pm Sundays and Lost Immortals (with co-presenter) Matt Staples, the same day between 5-7pm. He has a penchant for great music that hasn’t achieved its due recognition and bringing it to a discerning audience. He also also enjoys writing and creating his own promo jingles.

Matt Staples
Matt is a musician and composer – and recording and IT specialist. He responded to an ad that Roy ran in 2018 for an additional team member on the Lost Immortals show. Since then he has co-presented nearly 300 shows and shared Roy’s enthusiasm for a wide range of music, all connected by good taste and quality, with a particular taste for punk, post-punk and modern jazz.
