Notes on a Cathedral
Cathedrals, with their awe-inspiring grandeur and intricate architecture, represent both the best and the worst aspects of the human condition. On one hand, they stand as testaments to human creativity, ingenuity, and spiritual devotion. But, they can also reflect the darker sides of human nature. Their looming presence in the centre of cities sometimes symbolise the wealth and power amassed by state-sponsored religion.
They feature in a surprising number of songs, so let’s walk through the Narthex into the Nave together.
