The Lost Immortals Ep 238 15.10.23

with Roy Stannard and Matthew Staples

on Mid Sussex Radio 103.8FM

The show is creaking at the seams this week with great lost music. Kyle Eastwood plays some snappy jazz with his dad on whistle; We reunite the Lemonheads and Juliana Hatfield; the genealogy of the song ‘I’m so Glad is played out; Glen Matlock returns with political bang and we have Lisa Hannigan exercising some of the most dulcet tones one these islands – and Rob Halligan who plays St Edwards this Friday lifts a Parting Glass.

Arguably the best opening of any show we’ve done. Listen and enjoy three linked, glorious tracks from The Lemongheads and Tthe Juliana Hatfield Three. Plus Clint Eastwood on whistle with his son Kyle; Gay Dad; the genealogy of the song ‘I’m So Glad’ across 4 artists from 1931-1985, the new Spector-sound of great new band Brigitte Calls Me Baby and the Spector-produced Dion ‘Born to be with you’ and Rob Halligan who plays St Edward’s Church, Burgess Hill this Friday 20th at 7pm. Tickets still available on the door.

I'm someone who doesn't like parameters, barriers or fences. I'll try and climb over them, burrow under them or just pretend they don't exist - until they don't. Sometimes I'll write about the mind in a poetic way, or poetry with neural undertones, or I'll proselytise endlessly about my favourite new band - or one of the old ones. My Blog will give you the keys to the kingdom. A kingdom with no borders, no expectations and, therefore, no failure.. Because I am endlessly empathetic with people, their motivation, their behaviour, their problems and their quest for knowledge, I work with the pioneering Brighton-based homeless, vulnerable women and disempowered school students charity Off The Fence Trust that has tried to redress the equality deficit for over two decades. I produce, host and promote two radio shows a week: The Whole Nine Yards Sundays 3-5pm on Mid Sussex Radio 103.8FM (www.midsussexradio.co.uk/listen) - and Lost Immortals on Mid Sussex Radio 103.8FM on Sundays 5-7pm.
