The Whole Nine Yards Ep 160
18th Feb 2024
Broadcast first on Mid Sussex Radio 103.8FM
with Roy Stannard

Dear #God

Secular music that has tried to address the God question. Roy enlists C. S. Lewis to assist

Knowing that God is out there is strangely comforting. It means that we are not just uber-animals trying to be the fittest to survive. It makes sense of our endless search for love and purpose and our quest for knowledge.

C.S. Lewis once said, “We are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists.” The arts are often the place where we come closest to communicating on an astral plane. Musicians have asked the deepest questions in music since the first beat of a drum when God sat at the fireside with them..

Let’s see what they have found.

A saucepan full of Secrets

A secret is something someone knows and others don’t. So why is it that there are any number of books offering to sell you the secret of success, weight-loss, relationships and male grooming?

Secrets aren’t supposed to be sold, just shared.

Usually, they are meant to remain confidential until the owner decides otherwise. Sometimes scandals remain secret for years and are then correctly uncovered. Secrets before a birthday or holiday are great. The sort that you find under a stone usually aren’t.
